First Assembly Christian School was founded as a part of the ministry of First Assembly Worship Center in 1976. The school began as a desire to assist the members of the church in the education of their children. It was an immediate success and continued to grow until by 1988 there were approximately 500 students in the school. The school was located at Rockland Circle even though the Worship Center was relocated to its present location in 1978. The Educational Center was not completed until 1988 and the school was relocated to its present location at that time. The school has had steady growth and presently numbers 762.
FACS serves a diversified population. In 2008, 142 churches were represented within the student body. The students come from many towns and cities such as Concord, Kannapolis and Charlotte. Also many counties such as Cabarrus, Rowan, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Stanley and Union are represented within the student body. The administration and pastoral leadership believe that encouraging the admission of students from other areas and backgrounds is a strategy for ministering to as many people as possible, and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the multitudes. |

The students who enroll at First Assembly Christian School receive an excellent education. The strong curriculum produces a solid academic background so that a student can succeed if he/she later decides to return to public school or graduates and goes on to the college of his or her choice. Many scholarships have been received by students to leading colleges. We also believe that they are equipped spiritually to cope with the problems of life and know the One to whom they should turn and depend upon.

FACS has had an effect on the intellectual, social and emotional climate of our area of the world. A Christian environment is a major contributor to righteousness and the retaining of important values in the world. It is our belief that the way to create change in the world is to begin with the youth. It is not our desire to fill their minds with propaganda, or that they should bow to any special demands that we would make upon them. Our desire is to teach them about Jesus, how He walked the earth, and left us the mandate that we should be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. We believe this means our mission is to teach in the place where we find ourselves. Our mission field is located in Concord, NC. He has said that if we lift Him up He will draw all men unto Himself.

Thousands of young people have been touched through the ministry and prayers of the dedicated teachers and staff of FACS. They have been educated in a way that will enable them to be blessed and be a blessing. More importantly, they have also been instructed in the Way that will enable them to inherit eternal life.

The way to bless and change a nation is through the youth of that nation. May we be faithful to the task of teaching youth “The Way, The Truth and The Life”!
